Our client is a specialist in commercial office fit-out and refurbishment , delivering high-end projects across London and the home counties. They are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join the Pre-Construction team. Youll play a pivotal role in preparing highly accurate and competitive cost estimates to support high-end fit-out and refurbishment projects, ensuring alignment with high standards for quality, safety, and sustainability. Key Responsibilities Lead and prepare comprehensive cost estimates, pre-tender budgets, and tender returns for commercial office fit-out and refurbishment projects. Interpret architectural, structural, and M&E drawingsincluding both Cat A and Cat B projectsensuring full coverage of scopes, methodologies, logistics, and M&E installations. Manage end-to-end estimating workflows: from tender review, material take-offs, subcontractor pricing, to final commercial submission. Conduct bid strategy sessions in conjunction with Pre-Construction colleagues, Technical Services, Commercial Management, and Directors. Apply value engineering and cost-saving alternatives without compromising on quality, sustainability, or safety benchmarks. Engage and negotiate with supply chain partners and subcontractors to source competitive and compliant pricing. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure estimating assumptions feed accurately into programming, procurement, and construction plans. Present estimates to commercial leadership and directors, articulating risk factors, opportunities, and pricing rationale effectively. Support post-tender reviews and assist in capturing lessons learned to refine future estimates. Essential Skills & Qualifications Extensive experience (typically 5+ years, preferably?7+ years) in estimating fit-out or refurbishment projects within the commercial office sector. Strong technical understanding of Cat A/B fit-out works and M&E installations. Proven command of full estimating lifecycle: measuring, bidding, subcontractor management, and cost control. Exceptional proficiency in estimating software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, Estimator) and Microsoft Office suite. Sharp attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and commercial insight. Outstanding verbal and written communication with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Demonstrated commitment to high standards in quality, health 'safety, and sustainabilityyoull be estimating for reflexively right-first-time delivery. Desirable Attributes Relevant qualifications such as Quantity Surveying (e.g., MRICS/ACostE) or Construction Management .
