Job Title: Fire-Stopping Operative Location: Loughborough, Leicestershire Pay/Day Rate: 190 per day Hours of Work: 7:30am 4:30pm, Monday to Friday Type: Temporary Start Date: Immediately We are recruiting for a qualified and experienced Fire-Stopping Operative to join a respected subcontractor delivering passive fire protection works on a live commercial site in Loughborough . This role requires someone competent with intumescent sealants, batt and mastic systems , and digital reporting systems such as Bolster or Field View . Duties of a Fire-Stopping Operative Carry out fire-stopping works to manufacturer specifications (e.g. Quelfire , Hilti , Rockwool ) Install fire barriers, mastic, batt, collars, sleeves and wraps around service penetrations Work from pre-surveyed fire compartment drawings or follow site instructions Accurately record work progress and photo evidence using digital apps (e.g. Bolster) Follow all on-site health and safety rules including use of appropriate PPE Liaise with supervisors or site managers to complete scheduled tasks to programme Skills and Experience Required Proven experience in passive fire protection , especially fire-stopping installation Competent with fire barrier systems , mastic work, and batt/board application Experience using Bolster Systems , Field View , or equivalent (preferred) Ability to read basic plans and follow technical guidance Strong awareness of fire safety regulations and working in live environments Mandatory: Valid CSCS card Full PPE (boots, hi-vis, hard hat, safety specs, gloves) Ability to speak and read fluent English Must have a smartphone with location services enabled for digital logging What the Client Offers Ongoing work with consistent shifts and opportunities for extended projects Access to modern fire-stopping tools, materials, and reporting systems Supportive site management and professional working conditions About the Client Our client is a specialist subcontractor with a national footprint in passive fire protection and compliance services .
