HMP Belmarsh is a category A Prison located in South East London, close to Plumstead and Woolwich Arsenal stations. The prison houses around 675 patients with a variety of needs include complex physical and mental health. Within this role you will be working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team including 2 other permanent 2 GP's providing excellent clinical care and treatment. Ideal applicants will have previous experience within a secure setting or with substance misuse prescribing.Hours Monday to Friday 9am-5pm or 9am-10pm Saturday 9am-2pmWe can offer either full time or part time hoursSalary This role has a salary of up to £132,297 FTE per annum depending on experienceHow will we support you? • Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course • Competency framework • Regional and national career development opportunities • Our bespoke Learning Management System to address your learning needs • Support from the wider teamCandidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checksWhat you'll be doing Our General Practitioners are extremely valued and are well respected members of the Prison Healthcare community, as a General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will Deliver first class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, and therefore as a General Practitioner at Practice Plus Group you get the opportunity to further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldn't usually experience within a practice, or even A&E environment. Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient's requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management. Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.
