Job Title: Blown Film Extrusion Operator Department: Extrusion Production Reporting To: Production Manager Location: Desborough, Northamptonshire Employment Type: Full-time (Rotating 12-hour shift schedule: 4 days on 4 days off 4 nights on 4 nights off) Salary: 14-16 per hour with additional Shift Bonus About Us: We are a privately owned, family-run polythene manufacturer and a recognised leader in the UKs polythene industry. Our Production Department is equipped with high-performance machinery and benefits from regular investment. The Role: We are seeking conscientious and skilled Blown Film Extrusion Operators to join our fast-paced, quality-driven production team. In this role, you will operate state-of-the-art machinery (mainly a 3 and 5-layer Macchi Co-Extrusion blown film lines) to produce a range of high-quality films. The ideal candidate will be proactive, able to think on their feet and work collaboratively as part of a team. Youll be expected to communicate effectively and report to the Production Manager and Team Leaders in a timely manner, while maintaining a safe, clean work environment and adhere to all company policies, health and safety procedures and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: Operate blown film extrusion lines to produce a wide range of flexible films, following all quality control procedures and company documentation (including safety protocols and operational guidelines) Produce films by setting up and adjusting machinery as per production requirements Utilise touch screen controls to monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments during operation Handle materials efficiently and ensure proper storage and organisation within the warehouse (following company policies and procedures) Communicate clearly and consistently with team members and managers to support and optimise production process and workplace efficiency Maintain accurate records of production output, machine settings and any issues encountered during operations Keen eye for detail and continuous product quality control (to operate to our ISO9001 and BRC accreditation standards) Maintain factory standards to ensure safety and cleanliness (in line with our ISO 14001 accreditation) and organisation around machinery and throughout the factory Essential skills: Proven experience operating blown film extrusion machinery is essential (minimum 1 year experience is preferred) Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues in the production process Adaptability and openness to new and innovative machinery and materials in conjunction with our growing sustainability drives Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on producing top-quality films that meet our standards Ability to work confidently in a team setting What We Offer Competitive salary with opportunities for internal promotion and career development Additional bonuses including shift bonus and employee referral bonus Term time holidays Overtime available upon request Free onsite parking for all employees Complimentary tea and coffee throughout your shift Relaxing TV room available for breaks Job Type: Full-time Pay: 14.00-16.00 per hour Expected hours: 42 per week Additional pay: Bonus scheme Performance bonus Benefits: Free parking On-site parking Schedule: 12 hour shift Please apply with your cv TPBN1_UKTJ
