An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Practice Pharmacist to join the multidisciplinary team at Midlock Medical Centre. We are a large and progressive GP practice located in the Ibrox area of Glasgow where we serve circa 9,500 patients. Our 6 Partner practice is a recognised GP training practice, hosting GP registrars, FY2 doctors and medical students. We are proud to work with a dynamic multidisciplinary team that includes a Practice Nurse, Healthcare Assistant and a supportive administrative team who expertly signpost and assist our patients and clinical team. We benefit from a range of Health Board attached staff including an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist, a Community Links Worker, and a comprehensive pharmacy team comprising of two Senior Pharmacists, two Senior Pharmacy Technicians and a Pharmacy Support Worker. The post holder will work closely with our clinical team in delivering high quality and patient centred care. As our new Clinical Practice Pharmacist, you will play a central role in contributing to the care of patients with long-term conditions and supporting safe and effective prescribing in line with local formularies. The successful candidate will deliver general pharmacotherapy services, manage prescribing and medicines optimisation to ensure safe and cost-effective prescribing. The Clinical Practice Pharmacist will also work with patients with complex polypharmacy needs and contribute to the delivery of chronic disease management. A specialist interest in diabetes would be advantageous. We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and adaptable pharmacist who can work both independently as an autonomous clinician and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team. Strong communication skills are essential as you will engage with a diverse patient population and liaise with professional counterparts across GP practices, community pharmacies and hospitals. Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council is essential. This post is for 16-24 hours per week with the arrangement of days and hours negotiable.
