Do you want to help power your career and be part of an evolving energy industry?An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Supplier Development Manager to join our Procurement Team.The role of Supplier Development Manager is to understand the needs of Northern Powergrid investment plans and ensure that our supply base has sufficient capacity, capability and resilience against supply chain risks. They would also foster and maintain supplier relationships, encouraging supplier participation in tenders through pre-market engagement and guiding new suppliers through the onboarding process.Along with a competitive salary between £65,00 and £75,000 depending on experience, we also offer;Up to 15% annual performance bonusEnrolment into our double-matched pension scheme25 days holiday per year increasing with tenure, plus bank holidaysCompany car allowanceWe’re excited to hear from candidates with a passion for our company and the industry and a desire to succeed. Apply now and we’ll be in touch.Key Responsibilities:Maintaining supplier relationships and providing process guidance and training to suppliersUnderstanding the needs of the investment plan and ensuring that Northern Powergrid's supply base has sufficient capacity, capability, and resilience against supply chain risksMonitoring the supplier base to ensure it is sufficient to meet the requirements of the Investment PlanPre-market engagement activities to ensure maximum supplier participation in our procurement exercisesOnboarding of suppliers and supporting contract mobilisationTraining and guiding key internal stakeholders in Procurement and tendering activitiesSupplier risk managementManaging supply chain performance in support of the delivery of our ‘Responsible Procurement’ commitments and the wider Northern Powergrid Sustainability StrategyEngaging with key suppliers to measure and reduce scope 3 emissionsSupplier relationship management, ensuring efficiency and continuity of supplyConsideration of supplier development and collaboration opportunitiesRepresent Northern Powergrid at industry steering and leadership groupsKey Competencies:Advanced knowledge of the EU Procurement DirectiveKnowledgeable in procurement systems and proceduresHigh level of literacy –capable of documenting coherent reports, policies and proceduresHigh level of IT literacy – to support IT based procurement systems.Good communication skills – to be able to routinely deal with internal and external peersStrong commercial awareness with good negotiation skills Qualifications and AttributesEssential Qualifications:HND or equivalent in business or procurement-related subjectMCIPSProcurement within a regulated industry, and understanding of the Procurement Act 2023Monitoring and managing supply chain sufficiencySupplier development and relationship managementDesirable Qualifications:Degree in business or procurement-related subjectUnderstanding of regulated procurement as a private UtilityOperating with Jaggaer and Achilles systemsOperating with Oracle-based systemsDevelopment of supply chain resilience plans and managing supply chain risks and issues
