Controls Systems ManagerWakefield | £60,000 + Bonus | Monday to FridayAre you an experienced Controls Systems professional looking for your next challenge? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading food manufacturing business in the Wakefield area. Due to internal growth and a wealth of investment across the site, we are now looking to appoint a Controls Systems Manager to strengthen the engineering team and help drive the business forward.As Controls Systems Manager, you will:Lead and manage all aspects of site control systems and automation.Ensure PLCs, SCADA systems, and HMIs are effectively maintained and optimised.Support ongoing site investment projects and play a key role in modernisation initiatives.Work closely with Engineering, Production, and Technical teams to minimise downtime and improve plant reliability.Drive continuous improvement in control systems to support operational excellence.Manage external contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with site and industry standards.We’re looking for someone who has:Proven experience working in a Controls/Automation role within manufacturing (food/FMCG experience is desirable).Strong knowledge of PLC programming and fault finding (Siemens, Allen Bradley, or similar).Experience leading projects and working with cross-functional teams.Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.The ability to manage contractors and liaise with suppliers effectively.If you’re passionate about controls systems and want to make an impact in a modern, forward-thinking manufacturing environment, we’d love to hear from you.
