Zoom Team Manager - Leyton, London Zoom by Ocado is changing the way people shop for groceries. Our mission is to deliver a full shop in under 60 minutes, and our site in Leyton is at the heart of this! We are looking for an experienced Team Manager to lead our site operations, inspire our colleagues, and ensure we exceed customer expectations every single time.What You'll DoThis is more than a standard Team Manager role; you will be a go-to leader within a team of other Team Managers, driving the Zoom site’s success alongside your peers! You will be a resilient, hands-on operator with a drive for action who thrives on the warehouse floor, not just behind a desk and you'll be the one who keeps a cool head when faced with competing demands, making the critical decisions that have the biggest operational impact!As part of your responsibilities you will also:Take a tactile, hands-on approach to coaching, developing, and inspiring a diverse team of warehouse and delivery colleagues. You will be accountable for employee engagement, performance, and building a high-energy, inclusive culture.Work as a key partner to the Operations Manager, ready to take full ownership of the site and act as the senior point of contact in their absence.Manage the end-to-end process, from goods-in to the final mile. You will expertly prioritise competing tasks, analyse performance metrics, and implement strategies to boost productivity, quality, and efficiency.You will maintain impeccable standards of housekeeping, product quality, and food safety, even under pressure.Act as a key point of contact, communicating business results and initiatives to your team and collaborating effectively with internal functions like HR, Planning, and Risk Management.What You'll Bring To The Team EssentialProven experience managing and leading teams in a last-mile logistics, warehouse, or production environment where quick turnarounds are the norm.Exceptional resilience and composure as you can remain calm and decisive under pressure and can expertly prioritise competing demands to achieve the best outcome.A strong, hands-on leadership style with a genuine passion for developing people through coaching and direct involvement.A solid understanding of Health & Safety best practices and a commitment to creating a safe workplace.Experience in performance management, including conducting disciplinary investigations.Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage upwards and work with senior management, not just direct reports.DesirableExperience in a micro-fulfilment centre (MFC) or similar rapid delivery environment.A track record of designing or enhancing operational processes.Proven experience deputising for a senior manager and an understanding of the 'bigger picture'.A strong understanding of key compliance areas, with experience in upholding the highest standards such as Food Safety and GDPR Regulations within a team environment.IOSH accreditation or a similar Health & Safety qualification.Experience working in a start-up, scale-up or new site set-up environment.More About The RoleOur Leyton Zoom site is a 24/7 operation, so a flexible approach is essential.
