Now Hiring: Construction & Civil Engineering BuyerExeter Up to £40,000 basic Civil Engineering & Groundworks ContractorI'm currently working in partnership with a well-established civil engineering and groundworks contractor based in Exeter, who are looking to appoint an experienced Buyer to support their continued growth across the South West.This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially-minded Buyer with a background in construction, civil engineering, or groundworks to join a dynamic, growing business with a strong pipeline of work.The Role:The successful candidate will take ownership of all buying functions across multiple live sites. You’ll be responsible for procuring materials, plant, and subcontract services – ensuring cost-efficiency, timely delivery, and supplier quality.Key responsibilities include:Procuring materials, plant, and subcontract packagesManaging supplier relationships and negotiating termsMonitoring delivery schedules and managing stock levelsSupporting estimating and project teams with procurement adviceMaintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with company policies The Ideal Candidate:Proven experience in a Buyer role within construction or civil engineeringGroundworks knowledge preferred (but not essential)Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skillsFamiliarity with supply chains and material lead timesAble to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesConfident using procurement systems and Microsoft OfficeWhat’s On Offer:Basic salary up to £40,000 (depending on experience)Full-time, permanent role with long-term career prospectsOffice based in Exeter with South West-based projectsOpportunity to join a supportive team and growing businessHow to Apply:If you're an experienced Buyer looking for your next challenge within a reputable regional contractor, I'd love to hear from you.Please apply with your CV or contact me directly at RGB for a confidential discussion.
