This is an excellent opportunity to take on a pivotal role, making a tangible impact for local residents while working on a varied and challenging caseload.The RoleYou’ll be handling housing litigation matters from start to finish, with a particular focus on disrepair cases. Your work will span the full range of housing-related issues, including:High-value and routine disrepair claimsPossession proceedingsInjunctions, closure orders and enforcement actionsPre-litigation casework through to final hearingsAlongside this, you’ll provide clear, practical legal advice to colleagues and clients, support on policy matters, and represent the authority in County and Magistrates’ Courts when required.What We’re Looking ForA qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal ExecutivesExperienced in housing disrepair and local authority housing litigationConfident in conducting advocacy in both County Court and Magistrates’ CourtSkilled in providing clear, concise legal advice with strong drafting and research skillsAble to work independently, manage a demanding caseload, and adapt quickly to new mattersA strong understanding of the pre-action protocol for housing conditions claims and housing litigation procedures is essentialWhat’s on OfferSalary £46,142 – £52,413Hybrid working (minimum two days a week in the office, plus court attendance as required)A supportive and collaborative team environmentThe chance to make a real difference to housing standards and community wellbeing
