The PM develops strategy plans with the partners and action plans for people, finance and partnership working. The role supports delivery of future services to the community and provides strategic leadership to the management team, ensuring managerial cohesion and meeting aims related to quality, statutory obligations, financial stability and patient service. External contracts for service delivery may be managed by the post holder.Primary ResponsibilitiesOrganisationalGuide the Assistant Practice Manager daily to ensure smooth operations and staff accountability.Lead change and continuous improvement initiatives.Coordinate the review and updating of practice policies and procedures with the Assistant Practice Manager.Develop, implement and embed a business resilience plan (BRP).Ensure the team reaches QOF targets (with support from nursing and admin leads).Ensure compliance with CQC regulation and registration.Manage internal practice meetings.Liaise with the PCN regarding funding, ARR roles and Patient Participation Meetings.Oversee complaints, delegating investigations as appropriate to the Assistant Practice Manager.Efficiently manage projects to deliver new systems, service delivery and procedures on time and within budget.Practice DevelopmentProvide strategic leadership and representation within the Primary Care Network and with local stakeholders.Identify sources of new funding for projects, research or new ways of working.Write bids for new funding opportunities and collaborate with partner organisations.Identify opportunities to grow patient numbers to improve efficiencies and income generation.Human Resources & Team ManagementManage clinical staff with partners’ support and assist the Assistant Practice Manager with administrative staff.Direct line management of Assistant Practice Manager, Practice Administrator/Care Co-ordinator, and Reception Manager.Develop HR and workforce strategy with the Assistant Practice Manager in line with overall practice strategy.Ensure effective recruitment and retention to deliver the right skill mix as needs change.Develop team leaders and managers to appropriately manage their teams with support.Ensure compliance with legislation and oversee disciplinary issues as required.Ensure staff receive appropriate training for their roles.FinancialOversee financial elements to ensure balance and resilience, including budgeting, income generation and utilisation of PCN income streams, in conjunction with the partners.Maintain relationship with the accountancy provider.Manage service contracts in line with strategic priorities.Premises & ITOversee premises management and health and safety, including risk assessments and mandatory training with the Assistant Practice Manager.Plan future use of premises.Plan and oversee IT systems, delegating administration where appropriate.Ensure IT security and information governance compliance.Coordinate all practice projects.Secondary ResponsibilitiesDeputise for partners at internal and external meetings.Act as primary contact for Primary Care England, SYICB, community services, suppliers and other external stakeholders.A full job description can be obtained by contacting Julie Gordon on 01709 522022.Qualifications & Experience ExperienceEssential: Working in General Practice; Knowledge of QOF; Good IT skills; Strong communication; Experience of performance management; Workforce planning.Desirable: Leadership/Management qualification; Knowledge of CQC; Experience in healthcare; Health and Safety knowledge.QualificationsEssential: GCSEs A-C in Math and English; A-Levels in English and Maths; Leadership or Management qualification.Desirable: NVQ in Business Studies or equivalent.Other information Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check: This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975; a DBS disclosure will be required.Employer: High Street Surgery, High Street, Rawmarsh, Rotherham, South Yorkshire, S62 6LW.
