We are currently partnering with a Local Authority in Greater Manchester, who are recruiting for a Employment Lawyer to join their growing team on a 3 month locum contract, with opportunities to extend following this.This is a full-time position with an hourly rate of £55 - £60/hour (umbrella) and the start date is subject to notice. It is a remote role, however any office attendance in Greater Manchester would be advantageous.Duties will include (but are not limited to): Handling a complex caseload of employment matters on behalf of the Council, including advising on discrimination, unfair dismissal, equal pay, pensions, TUPE, policy matters and employment tribunal casesLiaising and advising HR on sickness absences, restructures, equality issues, performance issues, and policy disputesDrafting settlement agreements, responding to employment claims and undertaking advocacy where requiredProviding timely and effective specialist legal advice to elected members, including Directors, senior managers and officersRequirements:Experience required within Employment lawLocal Government experienceRewards and Benefits:Remote workingFlexible working daysWorking hours:37 hours per week Monday – Friday, flexible start/finish timesPlease note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.James Andrews is acting as an employment agency and business in relation to this role.At James Andrews Recruitment Solutions we try to respond to all applications personally, however, due to the high volume of applications this is not always possible.
