The Transport fleet, covering the whole of the uk, Ireland and most of Europe has a big impact on the service we provide as Eland cables, running a mix fleet of Mercedes, Scania, DAF and Volvo totalling over 125 vehicles and trailer within the fleet. Accountability / Responsibilities: Comply with all H&S, risk assessments and safe systems of work. Fully conversant with the following Government documents. Heavy goods vehicle (HGV) inspection manual Guide to maintaining road worthiness. Contribute to improving guidelines and processes for the department. Work with the immediate and wider teams within the business Tasks: Diagnosing and rectifying all types of fleet faults/defects Preparation and presentation of vehicles and trailers for MOT inspection Complete maintenance work within the RM schedule. Liaising with TP suppliers to attain correct parts. Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness. Ensuring all job cards and service sheets are completed in a timely manner, including paper and electronic. Capability Behavioural Competencies: Conscientious and Accurate in their role to demonstrate a high standard of workmanship. must be technically competent and operationally aware of the safety standards that apply to the vehicles they examine, techniques of vehicle examination, diagnosis, and reporting. Ability to work: within guidelines given and to strict deadlines. under pressure. actively seek solutions to problems. as part of a team. Experience/Qualifications Technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician ) or proven experience repairing & maintaining vehicles / trailers. C+E license desired but not essential for attending MOT tests at off-site ATF's. Training will be provided to ensure safety, safe working, compliance, business operations, maintenance of equipment.
