Contract DevOps Engineer | Up to £325 Outside IR35 | 3 months (rolling) | Remote, UKA leading consultancy and software company working on large-scale optimisation projects in the water resources and infrastructure space is seeking a DevOps Engineer to help deliver a key initial 3-month project. This role will focus on building a scalable system for deploying compute-intensive optimisation jobs on a cluster, with automated scheduling, data storage, and API integration.About the ProjectThe goal is to create a system that:Submits optimisation jobs via an existing API.Automatically deploys them on a compute cluster with the requested cores.Stores outputs in a big data database for future analysis.Required Skills:Strong experience with Slurm or similar job schedulers.Expertise in Docker (Kubernetes experience a plus).Big data database design (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Hadoop/S3).Proficiency in Python for API integration.Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).On offer:Up to £325 Outside IR35 p/dRemote (UK)3 months (rolling)If you enjoy building complex compute systems from the ground up and thrive on hands-on engineering challenges, this project offers the chance to design and deploy a cutting-edge optimisation platform at scale.*Due to high volume of applicants, not all candidates will receive feedbackContract DevOps Engineer | Up to £325 Outside IR35 | 3 months (rolling) | Remote, UK
