DBR Group, acting as Recruitment Agency, are recruiting for Team Leader (Production/Process/Despatch) for our very well established and renowned client based in Manchester. Job Purpose Working for a very well-established company in Manchester, to organise, motivate and lead production crew in line with QCDSP targets and KPIs. Achieve production requirements within agreed timescales and costs. Support Manchester site vision, to be the home of the operational excellence and the customers first choice manufacturer. Reporting to the Shift Manager on a permanent position. Dimensions Up to 10 direct reports. (staff on shift) Principal Responsibilities Be supportive, act with integrity, show enthusiasm and embrace openness. Have detailed understanding of Manufacturing Systems. Understand and implement lean manufacturing work practices including 5s, AM, problem solving (including root cause analysis) to drive continuous improvement activity on site. Provide cover where required for team leader sickness and holidays Manage production crew in line with QCDSP targets and KPIs. Ensure employees are trained and fully utilised to the optimum skills level as detailed in the skills training, allocating skills where appropriate. Coach and develop manufacturing teams to adopt and share best practice and guiding principles. Manage and develop personnel in accordance with HR policies and procedures to maximise job performance and potential, raising concerns regarding under-performing operators. Produce quantitative date by shift, to enable performance and costs to be analysed under QCDSP. Manage attendance for employees through the relevant site procedures and time and attendance system Ensure team always maintain safety and hygiene standards Maintain effective communications ensuring regular briefings and feedback is provided to the teams keeping them up to date on the business and future developments Strictly follow product specifications Ensure adherence to procedures and quality standards and ensure that all production is recorded accurately Maintain good housekeeping and high levels of hygiene at all times Ensure all product is clearly and correctly labelled and that all Quality paperwork and procedures are completed accurately Report any quality problems or issues to the Technical Manager Monitor and record waste and identify areas for improvement Maximise product yields without compromising product quality Follow safe working practices and ensure employees understand and adhere to them Record and control variances Report any problems or issues to the relevant person at the earliest opportunity so as not to impact on production. Continually review processes and methods and identify improvements In conjunction with the site management team integrate continuous improvement initiatives across all aspects of manufacturing All employees should carry out their duties in a responsible manner giving due consideration to Safety, Environmental & Quality procedures, which are part of the Integrated management System. Contribute to the health 'safety of self and others by applying health and safety principles to the required standards whilst undertaking designated tasks These are the key daily tasks, not a comprehensive list of all tasks undertaken by the job holder.Flexibility is required by the business & this will be agreed with the individuals line manager. General Responsibilities Understanding and implementation of lean manufacturing work practices including 5S, AM and problem solving (including root cause analysis), to drive continuous improvement activity throughout the site Have a detailed understanding of the Manufacturing System Ensure all training for direct reports is documented using the appropriate skills matrix. You must exercise reasonable skill and care for the health and safety of yourself and other people at work and you must not interfere with or obstruct anything provided in the interests of health and safety at work. The incumbent should demonstrate behaviours which are in line with the site values & help to improve the Quality, Safety & Environmental culture. Support the business in working towards delivering our ethical trading and human rights vision. When engaging with internal and external stakeholders (such as consumers, customers or suppliers) maximise any potential opportunities to communicate our ethical trade and human rights approach. Knowledge Experience of working within an FMCG environment Experience of dealing with HR/ people issues (e.g. investigations etc.) Food Awareness and Hygiene certified (would be beneficial) Skills Excellent IT skills, namely Microsoft Excel Experience of managing a small team Experience of coaching and developing individuals Effective communication skills Ability to prioritise tasks Hours: Monday to Friday 10pm to 6am (Nights) (on site role, no hybrid working) Remuneration: 15 p/h (this is 14 p/h rate and 1 p/h night allowance) (31,200 pa) If you are interested in the job role, please click Apply and upload your most up to date CV.
