Location: Bury, Greater ManchesterSalary: £38,600 per annumShifts: Wednesday to Thursday, 6am-6pmThe OpportunityA well-established food manufacturing site in Greater Manchester is seeking a proactive and experienced Hygiene Supervisor to lead its hygiene operations.This is a key leadership role where you will manage a team of hygiene operatives, ensuring all cleaning tasks are delivered to the highest food safety standards while supporting overall production performance in Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People (SQCDP).You'll play a central part in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient factory environment - enabling best-in-class hygiene practices and supporting future site improvements.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, coach, and support a team of hygiene operatives to meet/exceed KPIsEnsure delivery of the full hygiene schedule in line with production plansConduct audits to ensure cleaning meets required standards and complianceManage staffing levels, rotas, training, and performance reviewsChampion Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Quality across the teamIdentify hazards, report near-misses, and support safety investigationsEnsure correct storage and usage of cleaning materials to avoid lossDeputise for the Hygiene/Services Lead when requiredWhat You'll BringExperience in a hygiene supervisory or team leader role within food manufacturing or FMCGLevel 2 Food Safety certification (essential)IOSH Supervising Safely (or willingness to achieve)Strong leadership, communication, and people management skillsExperience with cleaning audits, GMP, and working to compliance standardsGood IT skills including Microsoft Office and internal systems (training provided)Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentA proactive, detail-focused, and team-oriented mindsetKey AttributesA hands-on leader who leads by example and sets high standardsTakes ownership and pride in delivering excellent hygiene outcomesRespects and supports diverse teams in a collaborative environmentClear communicator – able to engage across all levels of the businessHonest, reliable, and committed to continuous improvementFlexible and adaptable to meet changing business demandsWhy Apply?Salary: £38,600 per annumGenuine opportunity for progression into more senior site rolesJoin a fast-moving and supportive manufacturing environmentMake a visible impact on hygiene and site performanceReady to Step Up?If you're an experienced hygiene professional ready to lead from the front and make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you.Apply now with your CV to take the next step in your career.
