We are seeking aMobile Forklift Engineer/Mechanical Handling Field Service Engineerto join our clients team of southern-based engineers, covering postcodes across Croydon and South London. This full-time role will involve maintaining, repairing, servicing, and modifying a range of material handling equipment.Key Responsibilities:Service, maintain, and overhaul material handling productsPerform fault-finding and repairs on gas, diesel, and electric-powered forklift trucksCarry out routine maintenance tasks (checking brakes, lifting assembly, steering, oil/filter changes)Preventative maintenance (lubricating steering and lifting equipment)Battery maintenance (voltage and fluid checks using meters and hydrometers)Respond to breakdowns and minimize customer downtimeMaintain excellent customer relationshipsComplete documentation to company standards and liaise with the parts teamWork on mobile machinery (brakes, steering, wheels, lift chains, etc.)Troubleshoot and resolve issues with electrical drive systems, diesel/LPG engines, hydraulics, and common drive-trainsQualifications & Skills Required:Full UK driving licensePrevious experience working on manual handling equipment/forkliftsStrong diagnostic computer skillsExperience in heavy goods, plant machinery, automotive, or similar industries (e.g., agricultural, REME, HGV, PSV, construction)Ability to work unsupervised and respond to breakdowns efficientlyExperience with electrical/mechanical engineering in machinery is essentialWhat You'll Get In ReturnCompetitive salary up to 40k23 days annual leave + Bank HolidaysCompany VehiclePension SchemeRetail DiscountsCotsco membership By applying for this role, you are consenting for RSD Recruitment to hold and process your data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations.
