Trainer / Assessor in Horticulture Salary28,168 - 39,244 per annum, pro rata (Trainer/Assessor Pay Grade 5 - 13) (Dependant on skills, qualifications & experience) LocationLackham Permanent,Part Time 22.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year Closing Date: 6th October 2025 Wiltshire College & University Centre have a great opportunity for a Trainer/Assessor in Horticulture to join our team. Trainer/Assessor in Horticulture The Role: We are looking for a dedicated Trainer/Assessor in Horticulture to join our dedicated land-based team at Wiltshire College & University Centres Lackham Campus a centre of excellence for horticultural and landscape education. Set in 500 acres of stunning Wiltshire countryside , Lackham Campus is not only a working estate but also a registered RHS teaching centre , offering an unparalleled range of industry-leading facilities for learning horticulture, landscape gardening, and land management. As a Trainer/Assessor , you will deliver outstanding apprenticeship training in horticulture, ensuring learners meet the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for successful careers across the sector. Trainer/Assessor in Horticulture Key Responsibilities: Your key responsibilities will include: Delivering high-quality training and assessment across horticulture apprenticeship standards. Creating personalised learning plans using skills scans and initial assessments. Supporting learners through tripartite reviews, progress tracking, and preparation for their End Point Assessment (EPA). Collaborating with employers to ensure apprentices are progressing effectively in the workplace. Maintaining accurate records and supporting quality assurance processes. Championing learner success by identifying and addressing support needs quickly and effectively. Trainer/Assessor in Horticulture You: We are looking for someone with real industry experience and the drive to pass on their knowledge to the next generation. To succeed in this role, you will need: A recognised qualification in horticulture or a related field (Level 3 or above). English and Maths at Level 2 (GCSE Grade C/4 or above). Excellent communication and organisational skills. A learner-centred approach and the ability to inspire and motivate. Desirable (or willing to work towards within 6 months): Assessors Award (A1/TAQA or equivalent). Internal Quality Assurance qualification. Previous experience in a training or education role.
