Role Overview– Motorsport – Northamptonshire - £DOE Location: Silverstone, UK. Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent. Working hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility for some remote working. Start Date: Flexible. Role ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain in-house tyre models for use in vehicle simulations and simulators Assess tyre model correlation, identify areas of performance improvement, and contribute to implementation Propose new development items and methodologies for improving tyre modelling and tyre performance Support simulator testing (primarily remote) as required to further tyre model development Support rig testing as appropriate, and post-process results to further tyre understanding Assist trackside engineers with pre- and post-event analysis, as required Influence overall car performance by collaborating with Design, Race Engineering, and Simulator teams on tyre performance impacts Technical Skills RequiredMinimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within top-tier motorsport (F1, FE, WEC, or similar), with a proven track record in tyre engineering Strong theoretical understanding of tyre and vehicle dynamics Experience developing and maintaining tyre models, ideally thermo-mechanical models Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language (e.g., MATLAB, Python) Knowledge of rig testing relating to tyres (preferred but not essential) Familiarity with lap time simulation software (e.g., Canopy) (preferred but not essential) Skills RequiredSelf-motivated to develop, drive, and deliver race car performance Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced team environment Strong technical and interpersonal communication skills Capable of working both independently and as part of a team Confident in raising issues and proposing solutions Comfortable working in a fluid, dynamic environment Detail-oriented with a methodical, structured approach Buids strong rapport with colleagues and stakeholders Demonstrates initiative to deliver on objectives and overcome obstacles Composed and decisive, with the ability to make sound, reasoned decisions Inspires and motivates peers by leading through example Excellent organisational and time management skills Qualifications & Experience RequiredDegree-level education or commensurate work experience Mechanical, Automotive, or Aeronautical Engineering degree desirable but not essential Background in Physics and Maths advantageous A strong interest in and understanding of motorsport and engineering What They OfferThe opportunity to join a legendary motorsport name in an exciting new era.
