Job Description

Looking to build your career in building safety while making a tangible impact across a large residential portfolio? This Assistant Facilities Manager (Building Safety) role is based in Borehamwood, supporting a dedicated team to keep residents and buildings safe and compliant. The Role Provide day-to-day administrative and technical support to the Building Safety team, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time. Organise and maintain compliance records and safety documentation, using appropriate software and robust filing systems ready for audits and inspections. Manage the Building Safety inbox, prepare reports and meeting notes, and act as a first point of contact for stakeholders - escalating issues where required. Liaise with managing agents, property managers, fire services and other responsible persons to gather information and coordinate responses to enforcement, prohibition, or deficiency notices. Support monitoring of compliance across the portfolio, with emphasis on relevant buildings (typically over 11m or five or more floors), and assist with implementing safety improvements. Keep abreast of changes to legislation and best practice; participate in training to continually develop knowledge and skills. The Person Working knowledge of UK building/fire safety frameworks, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the Building Safety Act 2022 and the Fire Safety Regulations 2021. Recognised fire safety qualification (e.g., Level 3 NEBOSH or equivalent). Experience in facilities management with exposure to compliance, health 'safety, and asset list oversight. Highly organised with proven ability to handle sensitive information and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable learning new systems. Collaborative, personable and consistently professional.
