External Lighting Engineer London 43,000 We are seeking an External Lighting Engineer to join our Electrical Contractor clients. The role is based in London and comes with a salary of 43,000. The role involves installation, maintenance, and servicing of street lighting infrastructureincluding lighting columns, feeder pillars, illuminated signage, bollards, and external lighting systemsprimarily within the social housing and local authority sectors. Responsibilities for External Lighting Engineer Interpret underground cable drawings and specifications for lighting installations Install, maintain, and repair street lighting furniture and external lighting systems Conduct groundworks including trenching, ducting, and fault excavation Diagnose underground faults using CAT/Genny and technical drawings Perform routine visual and electrical inspections Ensure compliance with BS 7671 regulations and health & safety standards Accurately complete job reports and documentation Attend training sessions and participate in performance reviews Collaborate with office staff and supervisors to resolve queries Requirements for External Lighting Engineer Strong knowledge of the street lighting industry Proven experience in installation and maintenance of lighting systems Familiarity with electrical safety standards and legislation Competent in using mobile devices for job reporting and certification Excellent communication and organisational skills Responsible, proactive, and safety-conscious City & Guilds Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification (essential) GS39, IPAF, NRSWA (desirable) Full UK driving licence If you are interested in this role, wish to apply, would like more information or have any questions then please send us a copy of your CV.
