Mechanical Fitter / Sheet Metal WorkerLocation: London Oxford Airport (OXF) Contract: Until end of 2025 potential extension We are currently supporting our global aviation client in the search for an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Sheet Metal Worker to join their helicopters team at Oxford Airport. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the safety and airworthiness of helicopters undergoing customisation and maintenance in a highly regulated environment.Key Responsibilities:Manufacture and assemble sheet metal components, brackets, and fittings to tight tolerancesCarry out structural repairs and modifications both on and off aircraftInterpret and work from detailed mechanical drawingsInstall brackets, doubler plates, etc in association with the embodiment of modifications to customers helicoptersSupport general hangar operations, including aircraft movements and housekeepingCollaborate with the design office to ensure accurate implementation of modificationsRemove and refit panels and cowlings to helicopters and equipmentExperience and QualificationsProven experience in aircraft sheet metal work, including riveting and structural repairsAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings and associated dataExperience working with helicopter systems Skilled in using workshop tools such as guillotine, manual folding machine, and press brake (desirable)Comfortable working shifts and in confined spacesCompleted a formal aviation apprenticeship or equivalentInitial Human Factors training and a full UK driving licenceFamiliarity with SAP, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office is advantageousAdditional Information:Candidates must be eligible to obtain basic Security Clearance due to airside access requirementsIf you are interested please apply directly or email for more information.
