Bus Mechanic / PSV EngineerSalary: £48,000 – £62,000 per yearLocation: HuddersfieldJob Type: Full-time, PermanentStart Date: ImmediateAbout the RoleWe’re looking for experienced PSV Engineers / HGV Engineers to join our engineering team in Huddersfield. You’ll be responsible for keeping our fleet safe, reliable, and ready for service — carrying out diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance in line with DVSA and company standards.You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive workshop environment where quality, teamwork, and pride in the job come first.Key ResponsibilitiesService, maintenance, inspection, and repairs to DVSA and company standardsVehicle fault diagnosis using diagnostic equipmentMOT preparation and preventative maintenanceRoad testing vehicles following repairsAttending roadside breakdowns and recoveries when requiredRecording accurate details of all work completedReporting technical issues and additional repair needsSupporting continuous improvement of fleet reliabilityAttending training courses to maintain technical knowledgeWhat We’re Looking ForNVQ Level 3 (or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle / Buses / HGV maintenance)Solid mechanical knowledge of PCV requirementsExperience working with buses, coaches, or heavy vehicles (car mechanics may be considered with the right qualifications)IRTEC accreditation (advantageous, not essential)Full PCV licence is desirable but not essentialTechnically adept with strong fault-finding skillsBenefitsFree travel pass on Public Transport (for you and one nominated family member)Company pension scheme25 days holiday (increasing with service)Retail & leisure discounts (3,000+ high street and leisure brandsCycle to Work schemeHealth & wellbeing programmeCanteen and on-site parkingFree or subsidised gym membershipReferral bonus schemeRegular company events
