About the RoleWe’re looking for a Lead Property Surveyor to take charge of complex property transactions that directly support the operational railway. From enabling new station developments to resolving land access issues, this is a high-impact role where no two days are the same. You’ll lead on acquisitions, disposals, easements, and licences – ensuring major rail projects are delivered on time and on budget. With two direct reports and a strong partnership with our supply chain, this is a fantastic opportunity to step into a technical leadership role with real autonomy. What You’ll Be DoingLead complex property transactions: acquisitions, leases, surrenders, compensation claims, and more. Advise senior stakeholders: provide strategic property guidance across major infrastructure projects. Manage and mentor: support two surveyors and collaborate with external agents and solicitors. Drive innovation: help shape the future of property strategy within Network Rail. Champion sustainability and safety in everything you do. As this is a role in a regional team, and a line management position, occasional travel across NW&C is required. Candidates should be comfortable with frequent travel to client sites, regional offices, or other business locations as needed.
