The roleAs Treasurer, you will ensure effective financial governance and integrity of financial information. While financial matters are the responsibility of all trustees, it is to the treasurer that the other trustees may look to for advice, guidance and reassurance on all aspects of EdUKaid’s financial management, reporting and control systems. The personThis role will suit someone with senior financial management experience who is a qualified accountant or has equivalent experience. Previous experience in the charity sector would be useful, but energy, enthusiasm and a passion for our cause are a priority. We are particularly keen to hear from applicants from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and experience. Experience of Tanzania and/or international development are a bonus. GovernanceEdUKaid’s Trustees play a vital role in delivering the charity’s objectives and are responsible for the strategic direction and governance of the organisation. You will be expected to challenge and contribute to ensure that our governance is robust, transparent, and compliant with legislation. We are a supportive board of Trustees who are keen to take EdUKaid to the next level. Currently we have 3 board meetings and 1 in-person strategy day every year as well as 4 sub-committee meetings. All our meetings are hybrid, so you can attend in person or virtually. We would expect you to attend at least 1 meeting in person each year. In-person meetings take place in Salisbury. The time commitment is approximately half a day a month. This is a voluntary role, though reasonable expenses can be claimed.
