We have x3 posts available for a Salaried GP - 4 sessions per week. Please see this link to our website for information about our Practice: Main duties of the jobFace to face and telephone consultations Patient Home visits and Nursing Home visits Checking and signing repeat prescriptions Administration - dealing with queries, patient test results, referral letters NHS/private, task, emails and other paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner Cover all the clinical management of the patients in surgery as appropriate including initiating investigations, reviewing results, making referrals to secondary care or to other providers as appropriate. We have a mixed demographic of just over 18,000 patients. 5 Partners Currently x2 Salaried GPs 8 Nurses 2 HCAs Large Reception and Admin Team. PCN ARRS Staff - Pharmacists x2, Pharmacy Technician, Paramedic, Social Prescriber, GP Assistant and Care Coordinators x3. Job responsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities - In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will be available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports and correspondence in a timely fashion Triage patients presenting to the surgery by telephone, online and in person Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health and promoting healthy lifestyle strategies and education Manage long-term conditions and patients with complex problems Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards Collecting data for audit purposes and complying with QOF requirements Delivering enhanced services Check, manage & process patient test results Refer patients to secondary care and/or relevant organisations and internally within the PCN (eg to additional roles members of the PCN team) as required Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible) in line with local and national guidelines Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake the duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care in a surgery on a PCN basis Other Responsibilities within the Organisation - Awareness of and compliance with all relevant Practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation Contributing to the summarising of patient records and read-coding patient data Attending training and events organised by the Practice or other agencies, where appropriate and suitable and relevant for your role Keep up to date with current evidenced based approaches to patient care and service delivery, in line with NICE and national frameworks Contribute to education and training of trainee members of staff and students Attending and contributing to practice and PCN meetings Person SpecificationQualificationsMBBS or equivalent medical degree Full registration with GMC Certification of Completion of Training - JCPTGP/PMETB Inclusion on Performers List Evidence of a commitment to on-going personal & professional development Personal Skills and QualitiesAbility to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and verbally Excellent organisational skills Able to work calmly under pressure Ability to work on own initiative IT skills including word processing and database work Committed to quality and patient satisfaction Committed to equal opportunities Flexibility & adaptability Ability to bring fresh ideas ExperienceExperience of primary care through the GP Vocational Training Scheme.
