Senior Mechanical Engineer - Energy EfficiencyEngineering / Surveying ConsultancyCentral London (Hybrid)Circular Resourcing are pleased to be working with an Engineering Consultancy based in London who have a keen interest in working with clients to help them decarbonise and offer cleaner energy solutions mainly across the building services industry.This is a great opportunity for career development within a small, growing, and nimble team inplace working with excellent clients across the UK.About the role / company: Well-established consultancy with 15+ years of experience in the UK, working closely with clients to help decarbonise their buildings / property’s.Their main clients are commercial real estate landlords who need help assessing their real estate portfolio/properties to develop decarbonisation solutions.As part of a decarbonisation plan, customers engage our client to assess a building’sinfrastructure.Through audits and surveys, our client is able to advise on feasible options for retrofitting a suitable electrical infrastructure to allow strategic mechanical upgrades to progress.Boast some of the biggest real estate developers / asset managers across the UK as theirclients and currently working on some innovative and interesting projects within thisportfolio.Job responsibilities: • Work with an experienced team to design and develop mechanical solutions that integrateseamlessly into renewable energy systems.• Your work will take you from feasibility studies to full system designs and overseeing installations, ensuring the successful decarbonisation of our clients properties.• You’ll have the opportunity to lead a small, dynamic team, collaborating closely with clients and stakeholders, and advancing your knowledge of renewable systems.• This role offers significant scope for personal and professional growth, especially for those looking to gain broad engineering and commercial experience.• Lead the design and specification of low-carbon heating and cooling systems, such as heat pumps, biomass, and combined heat & power systems.• Conduct site surveys and assess existing mechanical infrastructure, identifying opportunities for improvements and efficiencies.• Evaluate the environmental, operational, and financial feasibility of various renewable energy solutions.• Work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated decarbonisation plans for clients,including energy efficiency considerations and electrical integration.Skills / experience: • Mechanical or Renewable Engineering Bachelors or Master’s• An enquiring mind and a desire to understand future mechanical technologies and how they can be applied to achieve a zero-carbon environment.• An understanding of heat pumps.• Good communications skill and the ability to work with and lead a small team.• Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage own work to meet the deadlines ofthe projects.• Energetic and capable of operating on own initiative and driving events.• The ability to prepare and record information in a clear and logical format.• Competent with IT and fully conversant with common packages such as Microsoft 365Ideal background: Experience within building services / working with net zero buildings / decarbonisationpackages of work would be nice to have.Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
