MPA are currently recruiting Permanent Care Assistants for our client Apex Housing, in the Derry/ Londonderry Area. The salary is 25,512 per annum (13.26 per hour for days and 13.26 per hour for nights plus 15 night shift allowance)This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a market leading healthcare provider in a warm patient centred care environment.Job Duties :To provide safe, effective care with compassion.To provide care that is resident focused whilst ensuring that residents dignity and privacy are maintained at all times.To work to recognised standards, including RQIA and Apex Policies and Procedures.To provide, where appropriate, personal assistance to residents such as bathing, washing, toileting, dressing, feeding etc. whilst ensuring the privacy, dignity and rights of residents are maintainedTo observe and report to Nurse Manager / Staff Nurse changes in residents health, wellbeing and behaviours.To report to the Nurse Manager / Staff Nurse untoward incidents, e.g. falls, accidents, unexplained injuries.To report any concerns re possible abuse of service users immediately to the nurse in charge.To report to the Nurse Manager / Nurse in Charge any complaints, compliments (written or verbal) and maintain a record of same.To refer all enquiries regarding the care or condition of service users to the nurse in charge.To accompany residents on social and recreational outings and other appointments, as required.To be available to listen and talk to residents using an approach suitable to their needs.To participate in the implementation of group and social therapy e.g. reminiscence, reading, letter-writing and entertainment.To assist with the cleaning service within the schemeTo ensure that service users are socially presentable in appearance at all times.To ensure that service users have any aids e.g. dentures, hearing aids, spectacles etc fitted, cleaned and in working order.Essential CriteriaQCF/NVQ 2 Health and Social Care or equivalentMust be currently registered with NISCC OR if new to the sector must achieve registration within 6 months.ORA minimum of 6 months experience in a formal setting working in a caring / support role with vulnerable adults (either paid or unpaid).Must be willing to work towards completion of QCF Level 2 Health & Social CareMust be currently registered with NISCC OR if new to the sector must achieve registration within 6 months.Further Information:Employee benefits: Starting at 4 weeks annual leave and 12 statutory days pro rata (increases with length of service) Night shift allowance Company pension scheme contributions Employer 6%, Employee 4% Company maternity/paternity pay Company sick pay Continuous training and development Free onsite parkingEmployee health and wellbeing : Apex promotes wellbeing for employees, consisting of a number of health and wellbeing initiatives Access to Inspire Workplaces Employee Assistance Programme and online Support Hub Monthly wellbeing calendar
