Scientific Operations AssistantThe following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.Location:20 Cambridge Science Hub, Bar Hill, CB23 8SQSalary:Competitive, DOE + Excellent Benefits!Contract:Full time, Permanent, Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pmBenefits:21 days holiday + 8 bank holidays and an additional day off for your birthday, comprehensive pension scheme, and healthcare benefits!This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to join a leading biotech company with branches in Cambridge (UK), Houston (US) and Leiden (NL), providing products and services globally.We are now looking for a versatile, highly-organised and competent Scientific Operations Assistant to join our dynamic team in Bar Hill!You will be responsible for liaising with production, managing the shipping of stock and coordinating the delivery of finished goods worldwide, liaising with couriers and customers to ensure a seamless logistics service.As our Scientific Operations Assistant you will be responsible for:Liaising with sales and production colleagues and planning logistics schedulesPreparing, handling and final visual QC of a variety of product types, more than 90% of which require cold chain transportPreparing and printing necessary export and import documentationPreparing and checking manuals, datasheets and labelsChecking product stocks to ensure products are available for outgoing ordersReceiving, unpacking and preparing shipped in ordersCompleting administration for received itemsPreparing, packing and dispatching ordersUpdating system to change order status, such as marking as dispatchedRestocking the freezer with the required amount of gel packsDisposing of cardboard and any other packaging wasteAssisting with resolution of email enquiries and projects as requiredCourier invoice checking, claims processing and general administrationSuggesting automation and/or improvements for front and back end processes and functionalityIn order to be successful in this role you must have:A degree in a life science subject and/or sound knowledge of biology or biological productsHighly attentive to detailMust be organised, decisive, efficient and practicalCreative and methodical thinking for problem resolutionThrives in a physically active role, capable of lifting and handling packages of up to 15kgSelf-motivated with a can-do attitude, willingness to learn and able to work alonePunctual and reliableStrong verbal and written communication skillsIt would be great if you had:Experience of importing/exporting and communicating with customs offices worldwideEcommerce platform experienceSecond language (French, German, Arabic or Chinese)Full training will be provided.
