Your New companyWe are thrilled to be working with our client, a leading Public Sector body, in the search for an Environmental Health Officer.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with environmental health regulations.Investigate and address community environmental health concerns.Provide guidance on food safety, water quality, air quality, and sanitation.Collaborate with local government agencies to develop policies.Conduct outreach and education programs on environmental health issues.Maintain records and reports related to environmental health activities.Essential CriteriaDegree or master's degree in environmental health, which entitles you to membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental HealthA minimum of 6 months' relevant experience in Environmental Health type workSkilled and persuasive communicatorAbility to exchange information orally and in writing, complicated or sensitive information with a wide range of audiencesAbility to achieve targetsCompetent in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office applicationsAnalytical and Judgemental skills required to interpret complex information and solve difficult problemsKnowledge and understanding of current Environmental Health legislationKnowledge of the issues facing Local Government in Northern Ireland and the public's expectations of regulatory servicesFull current driving licence or if disability prevents driving, access to a suitable form of transport to enable the duties of the post to be carried out in fullTo be available from time to time to carry out duties outside of normal working pattern and in addition to basic contracted hours.
