General OverviewAs the Transport and Depots manager, you will have responsibility for the management of all the vehicles, maintenance of equipment and the depots throughout the UK & Ireland. You will manage the fitters to ensure they are able to maintain the vehicles and the equipment on the vehicles to the standards as laid out in the Statutory Document for Transport Managers, and ensure all the depots are maintained in accordance with HSE and Statutory guidelines. You will be responsible for ensuring all operators of company vehicles are legally compliant and safe to be driving as per the company driving policy. You will liaise with the contracts managers, supervisory technicians and the operations team to ensure compliance with HSE and DOT standards are upheld. You will be responsible for the production of weekly & monthly management reporting on the status of the depots and the vehicle maintenance.Key ResponsibilitiesYour responsibilities will include those covered by law as determined by the statutory document for Transport Managers issued by the Senior Traffic Commissioner, (business contact for all queries relating to vehicles, maintenance, depot management and transport managementManage the fitters to ensure they are in the right place at the right time to be able to support the fleet maintenance requirements and that company procedures are adhered toControl stock levels for maintenance materialsThe management of UK & Ireland depotsRegularly monitor safety standards at the depot and reports to the SHEQ Director any concernsAttend weekly scheduling meetings to advise on vehicle usage and transportation issues.ExperienceFleet managementExperience of managing drivers, and teams of peopleExperience of warehouse/depot managementTransport & Driver management of high volume operation. Management and compliance of vehicle fleets..Experience of managing drivers to the Working Time Directive, to include schedulingExperience of using automated Tachometers and vehicle management IT systems.
