As a Learning Mentor, you will play a crucial role in providing academic and pastoral support to students, promoting their personal, social, and educational development. Your responsibilities will include: Delivering tailored one-on-one and group mentoring sessions to students, focusing on their specific needs and goals. Supporting students in overcoming barriers to learning, including emotional, social, and behavioral challenges. Collaborating with teaching staff and parents/guardians to create individualised support plans and monitor progress. Providing guidance and advice on study skills, time management, and exam preparation. Organising and facilitating workshops and extracurricular activities to enhance students' personal development. Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters respect, resilience, and self-confidence. Maintaining accurate records of student interactions, progress, and achievements. Liaising with external agencies and professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students when necessary. Qualifications and Skills: A bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree). Previous experience working with young people in an educational or mentoring capacity. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/guardians. Strong organisational abilities to manage individual caseloads and maintain accurate records. Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach to support students from diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of relevant safeguarding policies and procedures. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
