Toy Buyer | Greater Manchester | Up to 65,000 | Retail Business | Scale Up We're looking for a Toy Buyer to take the lead on developing and delivering exciting product ranges that inspire and engage customers. This role offers the chance to work across both own-brand development and licensed product; blending creativity with commercial strategy to build ranges that stand out in a competitive market. The Toy Buyer will play a key role in shaping the category vision, identifying new opportunities, and collaborating closely with design, sourcing, and marketing teams to bring innovative ideas to life. Key Accountabilities Lead the end-to-end buying process for toys, from product concept to launch, with a focus on driving growth and margin performance. Develop and execute a strategic plan for both own-brand and licensed ranges , ensuring balance across price points, play patterns, and customer appeal. Work closely with design and sourcing teams to develop exclusive products that align with brand positioning and customer insight. Manage relationships with key licensors, negotiating commercial terms and ensuring creative alignment with brand guidelines. Monitor sales performance and market trends, using data and insight to inform range decisions and maximise commercial potential. Collaborate with marketing and the wider business to deliver compelling go-to-market plans and storytelling opportunities. Maintain strong supplier relationships and identify new sources of innovation and differentiation. Ensure all products meet required quality, safety, and compliance standards. What We're Looking For A proven Toy Buyer or Senior Buyer with experience in toys, gifts, or related product categories. A creative and trend-aware mindset; able to spot opportunities and turn ideas into bestsellers. Strong understanding of own-brand development and managing licensed products within retail. Commercially driven, with a track record of delivering sales and profit targets. Excellent negotiation skills and experience working with licensors and suppliers globally. Collaborative and communicative, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams. Passionate about product, brand, and delivering memorable customer experiences.
