The Role As a Legal Recruitment Consultant at W&P Partners, you will: Build and manage your own desk of legal recruitment assignments (permanent, contract, interim) across law firms and legal teams in the South East. Develop and maintain strong relationships with hiring partners, senior leaders, and candidates within law firms and in-house legal functions. Source, headhunt, and place high-calibre legal professionals (e.g. associates, partners, counsel, support roles) in your client portfolio. Provide consultative advice on market trends, remuneration, candidate attraction / retention strategies. Manage the full recruitment lifecycle: brief, search, screening, interview management, offer negotiation, and post-placement support. Meet and exceed individual and team revenue targets. Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, market intelligence, and help scale growth in the legal vertical. Participate in occasional in-office days in East Grinstead (12 days per week) to foster team cohesion, training, and in-person client/candidate meetings. What Were Looking For To succeed in this role, you should have: Several years experience (ideally 3+ years) working in legal recruitment, with demonstrable success in placing legal professionals. A strong network (or ability to build one) within law firms, or in-house legal teams across the South East (e.g. London, Surrey, Kent, Sussex, Berkshire). Proven track record of meeting sales / revenue targets. Excellent consultative selling skills and ability to engage at senior levels. Strong researcher, head-hunter / sourcing skills, and ability to identify passive talent. Superb communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated, tenacious, proactive, and resourceful approach. Ability to work remotely and independently, but also to collaborate in a small team environment.
