Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer (Azure)Location: East Cheshire – HybridSalary: £80,000 to £90,000Interview Process: Two stages over video, no tech tests. Currently partnered with a scale up SaaS company in the Data space who're looking to bring it's Cloud / Platform engineering function in house through migrations, growth and stabilising its in-house platform engineering function. Team of 5 DevOps engineers.Job Overview:We are seeking a skilled and motivated Azure Cloud Platform Engineer to join a growing Platform Engineering team. You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure, with a focus on network architecture, cloud load balancing, and high availability. Reporting to the Head of Platform, you will collaborate with senior technical leaders to ensure the stability, scalability, and security of our systems across both cloud and on-premises environments. Key Responsibilities:Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure within Microsoft Azure.Develop and manage network architecture, including virtual networks, subnets, routing, VPNs, and network security groups. Implement and optimize cloud load balancing solutions to ensure availability, performance, and fault tolerance. Automate infrastructure deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.Collaborate with development and operations teams to support reliable and secure application deployments in Azure.Administer and tune MongoDB instances, ensuring performance and high availability. Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and network performance issues, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid incident response.Contribute to monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to improve visibility and operational efficiency.Required Skills and Experience: Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure. Solid understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, routing, and VPNs.Experience configuring and managing Azure networking components, Application Gateways, Load Balancers, and related services.Experience with CI/CD concepts and pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or ARM templates.Experience with automation and scripting using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.Strong knowledge of cloud security practices and governance models within Azure environments.Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Prometheus, or Grafana.Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, particularly in complex cloud and networked environments.
