Our team consists of highly-skilled cross-functional consultants, analysts, and support staff.Your Role Amber Labs is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior DevOps Specialist to join our team on a high-impact government transformation programme. This role involves building and supporting secure, scalable infrastructure for a mission-critical digital service used across the UK and internationally.What You’ll DoAs a Senior DevOps Specialist, you’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-native infrastructure. You’ll work closely with agile development teams to ensure seamless integration, automation, and performance across the platform.ResponsibilitiesBuild and manage infrastructure using AWS, Terraform/CloudFormation, and PackerAdminister Linux environments and configure Nginx for secure, high-performance deliverySupport CI/CD pipelines and agile development workflowsCollaborate using Git, Jira, Confluence, and other toolingApply non-functional requirements (NFRs) such as cost, scalability, and availability to infrastructure decisionsLead containerization and orchestration efforts using Docker and KubernetesIntegrate and manage HashiCorp tools (Consul, Vault, Packer)Contribute to platform strategy and long-term architectural decisionsYour Skills and ExperienceStrong background in AWS infrastructure and automationProficiency with Terraform or CloudFormationLinux administration and Nginx configurationExperience with Packer and Git-based workflowsAgile mindset and CI/CD experienceAbility to translate logical designs into physical infrastructureUnderstanding of NFRs and their impact on architectureSenior-Level Must-Haves:Kubernetes and Docker expertiseHands-on experience with HashiCorp tools (Consul, Vault, Packer)Nice to Have:Networking technologies and advanced cloud security practicesExperience in government or regulated environmentsDiversity & InclusionHere at Amber Labs, we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace for all.
