Chemistry Technician Sullivan Upper School BT18 9EP Permanent Part-Time (32.5 hpw), Term-Time Salary: Points 1114 with an hourly rate of 14.9294 to 15.6711, which equates to an annual salary of 21,886 to 22,973, paid in 12 monthly instalments. Key Responsibilities Prepare chemicals, equipment and materials for lessons; set up and clear away practical resources. Maintain, clean, store and carry out minor repairs on laboratory equipment . Organise and safely store chemicals and resources, ensuring all statutory checks and safety records are maintained. Support the department in meeting Health & Safety requirements, including safe handling, correct labelling, and secure storage of materials. Ensure laboratories and prep areas remain clean, safe and well-organised. Provide photocopying, printing and IT-based administrative support. Maintain inventories, update asset registers and assist with ordering and checking deliveries. Help prepare the department for Open Days, events and examinations . Support pupil safety, assist with first aid (training provided) and help in emergency procedures. Essential Criteria Qualifications Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade A -C, including English, Maths, and one science subject, or an equivalent/higher-level science-related qualification. Experience / Knowledge Knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to a laboratory environment. Evidence of proficiency in the use of computer and ICT, including Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel). Personal Qualities Proven effective planning and organisational skills. Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Calmness under pressure. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
