Job Title: Trainee Mobile Fitter Location: Mobile covering Kent, Ongar, West London, Swanley, Surrey Salary: Competitive hourly rate Job type: Full Time, Permanent Working Hours: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat - 50 hours per week Envar is a producer and supplier of high quality soil improver, woodland garden mulch, wood chip and biomass. We operate green waste composting sites across England with sites in Surrey, Northamptonshire, West London, Essex, Kent and Suffolk as well as our flagship site in Cambridgeshire where we also process food waste. In addition to composting Envar also recycle coffee grounds. About the role: Envar Composting are looking for a Trainee Mobile Fitter to persistently maintain high standards of workmanship and competence in performing tasks associated with preventative maintenance checks and general maintenance whilst maintaining high standards of internal and external communications and relationships. The individual will have the opportunity to learn to install, maintain and repair heavy machinery such as shredders, trommels, loading shovels, telehandlers, excavators and tractors, while handling lighter equipment such as pumps and generators. The role providers a great variation of types of work and allows any new entrant to develop their skill set and deepen their knowledge into plant and machinery. Stock control of parts is also a requirement that will enable further development and understanding of the role. Note: in addition to these functions, employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required. Key Responsibilities: Comply with all health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe work environment Staff have a duty to take care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions at work Carry out inspections, diagnosing any fault and defects on Plant Equipment, related equipment and components. This includes testing, dismantling, overhauling, repairing, and re-assembling as required Perform planned maintenance in workshops and on site Develop skills in diagnosing and repairing faults Undertake electrical repairs and maintenance on equipment and machinery Complete stock control checks of parts Participates in supporting operatives and employees in preventative maintenance checks, services and general maintenance/repairs of Plant Equipment, related equipment and components Participate and support in planned maintenance shutdowns Ensure that all work done by the team is carried in line with the safe systems of work and that appropriate PPE and safety equipment is always used Accurately complete the necessary paperwork in a timely manner as required such as service records and job sheets About you: Essentials: Good Communication Time and Priority Management Problem Solving Pay attention to detail Willing to work at height Interest in engineering Ability to work alone or in a team Engineering Background Desirable: Ability to plan own work Experience in the Waste Industry Experience with Shredders, Screeners, Shovels, Excavators & Conveyors Benefits: Life Insurance with access to GP24 Commitment to wellbeing through Employee Assistance Programme Electric Car salary sacrifice scheme for eligible employees Cycle to work scheme Company Events GymFlex salary sacrifice Please click on the APPLY button to send your CV for this role.
