Workshop Controller Basingstoke PERMANENT Full Time 26,000 - 35,000 OTE Competitive Salary (Uncapped) About the Role: Im looking for a proactive Workshop Controller to ensure smooth operations within a motor dealership workshop. Youll coordinate all vehicle work, manage a team of technicians, and work closely with other departments to deliver top-quality service for our customers. Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily workshop operations, assigning jobs to technicians efficiently. Ensure quality control by ordering the correct parts, conducting audits, and monitoring compliance. Support dealership profitability by managing workflow and resources effectively. Lead, coach, and motivate a team of technicians and apprentices to meet business objectives and targets. Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to deliver a seamless customer experience. Schedule work based on customer needs, workshop targets, job complexity, and parts availability. Provide accurate estimates for servicing and repairs, including timeframes. Assist technicians with technical challenges and identify effective solutions. Ensure all work complies with DVSA regulations, health and safety standards, manufacturer policies, and company guidelines. Skills & Qualifications: Relevant qualifications (City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ, or equivalent). Experience in the automotive industry, ideally in workshop control or as a technician. Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to delegate and inspire a team. Proficient in IT and workshop management systems. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with customers and colleagues.
