Senior Litigator - RTA & Credit Hire About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Litigator to join our specialist RTA and credit hire practice based in Bolton. This is a dual-focus role combining hands-on fee earning with leadership of our litigation team. You'll handle your own caseload of high-value and complex matters while providing strategic direction and mentorship to our team of litigators. Location: Bolton Hours: Full-time, office-based, 9:00am - 5:30pm Salary: 60,000+ (dependent on experience) Key Responsibilities Fee Earning: Manage a caseload of RTA and credit hire litigation matters from inception through to trial. Handle multi-track and fast-track claims, including those involving fundamental dishonesty allegations. Conduct advocacy at hearings and trials. Achieve and exceed individual fee earning targets. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and referrers. Team Management: Lead, manage and develop the litigation team. Supervise junior litigators and paralegals, providing guidance on case strategy and technical matters. Conduct regular file reviews and quality assurance checks. Monitor team performance and productivity. Contribute to recruitment, training and professional development initiatives. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture. Essential Requirements Qualified Solicitor with 5+ years PQE (or equivalent experience as a Legal Executive or Chartered Legal Executive). Proven track record in RTA and credit hire litigation. Strong understanding of current case law and procedural rules in this area. Experience managing a team or supervising junior lawyers. Excellent advocacy and negotiation skills. Demonstrated ability to achieve fee earning targets. Strong organizational and case management abilities. Commercial awareness and client relationship skills. Right to work in the UK (we are unable to offer sponsorship). Desirable Skills Experience with fundamental dishonesty claims and QOCS arguments. Knowledge of costs and Part 36 strategies. Higher rights of audience qualification. Experience with Portal claims and Pre-Action Protocol compliance.
