Job Title: Assistant Production Manager Department: Production/Manufacturing Reports To: Production Manager Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organised and motivatedAssistant Production Managerto support day-to-day operations in our production facility. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Production and Planning Managers to ensure manufacturing processes run efficiently, safely and on schedule, while maintaining high quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Assist the Production Manager in planning and coordinating production schedules and workflow. Supervise production staff and provide training, coaching and support to ensure performance standards are met. Monitor production processes to ensure quality standards, timelines and cost targets are achieved. Manage inventory of raw materials and finished products, coordinate with procurement and logistics teams. Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations. Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime. Maintain accurate records of production volumes, materials used, and employee performance. Collaborate with maintenance, quality assurance, and engineering teams to optimise production efficiency. Help forecast future production needs based on sales trends and market demand. Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices. Skills and Qualifications: Bachelors degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred). 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in a supervisory or coordinator role. Strong understanding of production processes, workflow optimisation, and quality control standards. Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP or MRP systems is a plus. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, or similar methodologies is advantageous. Working Conditions: Split between office and production floor environments. May require flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, or weekends depending on production schedules.
