Day rate: £250pd - £350pdLength of contract: 1 monthWe're seeking an experienced Trade Surveillance Contractor to join our Compliance function on a short-term basis to assist with the clearance of a backlog of market abuse alerts. You'll be reviewing, analysing, and documenting outcomes for alerts generated by our surveillance systems, ensuring they are processed to a high standard and in line with regulatory expectations.This role requires knowledge of market abuse frameworks, a detail-oriented approach, and the ability to work efficiently under time pressure. It is particularly suited to individuals with previous trade surveillance experience in banking, brokerage, or investment firms.Key Responsibilities:Review and investigate trade surveillance alerts across areas such as: insider dealing, market manipulation, order-based and trade-based anomalies and unusual trading patternsEscalate any suspicious or high-risk activity to the Compliance Lead as required.Work through a defined backlog of alerts within the agreed timeframes while maintaining quality and accuracy.Liaise with internal stakeholders, if needed, to gather additional information relevant to alert dispositioning.Ensure all work complies with relevant UK/EU regulatory requirements (e.g., MAR) and internal policies.Must have's:Must be immediately available to start a short term contractA background in trade surveillance, preferably within a bank, broker-dealer, or investment firm.Demonstrable experience reviewing and clearing market abuse alerts.Familiarity with common trade surveillance systems (e.g., SMARTS, Nasdaq, Scila, Actimize, or similar).
