This role sits at the heart of aviation operations, acting as the vital link between supply chain and production engineering to ensure aircraft materials, tooling, and equipment are available when and where they are needed.Operating within a 24/7, safety-critical environment, this position offers variety, responsibility, and structured development for individuals with a strong attention to detail and an interest in aviation logistics.ResponsibilitiesReceive, quality-check, issue, store, and dispatch aircraft materials and tooling in accordance with approved technical proceduresDeliver and distribute aircraft materials across airside and landside locations to support engineering operationsOperate forklifts and other material handling equipment for loading, unloading, and storage activitiesMaintain high standards of storekeeping, stock control, and housekeeping at all timesConduct cyclic stock audits to ensure inventory accuracyEnsure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality legislationTransact material movements accurately using enterprise systems (e.g. SAP)Support compliance with Dangerous Goods and Road Transportation regulations where applicableExercise personal responsibility to maintain safe working practices and prevent harm to self and othersComplete all mandatory and role-specific training requirementsRequirementsEssentialLevel 2 qualifications (or equivalent), including Maths and EnglishAbility to obtain and maintain an Airside PassAbility to obtain a Counterbalance Forklift Licence and additional material handling licences (training provided)Medical fitness to undertake a physical role involving repetitive and sometimes heavy liftingWillingness and flexibility to work a shift-based patternIT literacy with the ability to learn and use logistics and inventory systemsDesirableExperience in warehousing, logistics, or supply chain operationsWorking knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systemsFull UK driving licence (Category B, manual) with a minimum of 12 months’ experience and no more than three penalty pointsAbility to obtain an Airside Driving PermitKnowledge of Dangerous Goods and road transportation regulationsIATA and/or ADR Dangerous Goods certificationKey Skills & CompetenciesExcellent communication skillsHigh level of attention to detail and accuracyStrong commitment to safety, quality, and complianceAbility to work to operational targets and deadlinesAudit awareness and process disciplineCustomer-focused mindset within a high-pressure operational environmentBenefitsComprehensive induction programme (up to four weeks), including health & safety, forklift training, systems training, and on-the-job shadowingOngoing compliance and refresher trainingClear pathways for internal development and progression across a large engineering organisationCompetitive reward package, including travel-related benefitsOpportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced aviation environment supporting global operationsWorking ConditionsShift-based role operating 24/7, 365 days per yearPhysically demanding position involving manual handling and material movementSuccessful candidates will be required to complete a role-specific medical assessment prior to startApplication ProcessCandidates with relevant logistics, warehouse, or operational experience are encouraged to apply with an up-to-date CV.
