With a commitment to quality, safety, and innovation, we partner with public and private clients to bring vital infrastructure to life - especially in the UK water sector, where resilience, compliance, and sustainability are key.Role OverviewAs an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial and project delivery teams in the effective financial and contractual management of civil engineering works across the Severn Trent Water programme. This role provides hands-on experience within a dynamic and fast-moving environment, offering a clear pathway for career development into more senior commercial roles.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the preparation, submission, and management of monthly applications for payment and supporting documentationSupport the preparation and agreement of subcontract orders, variations, and final accountsUndertake measurement of works, site visits, and maintaining accurate recordsAssist with cost forecasting, budget monitoring, and financial reportingSupport the commercial team in managing risk, change control, and contract administration under NEC contractsLiaise with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure commercial alignmentContribute to procurement activities, including tender evaluations and comparisonsMaintain compliance with company procedures, health 'safety requirements, and client standardsProvide general commercial support to ensure successful delivery of project objectivesKey RequirementsDegree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline (or working towards one)1–3 years’ experience in a commercial/quantity surveying role within construction or civil engineering (water/utilities experience beneficial but not essential)Understanding of NEC contractsAbility to obtain and maintain relevant security clearance is essentialStrong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skillsGood communication and interpersonal abilities with confidence working across multi-discipline teamsProficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with commercial systems is an advantageA proactive, organised, and collaborative approach to workFull UK driving licence (site travel required)What We OfferCompetitive salary and benefits packageCareer development and training pathways (including professional accreditation support)Supportive and collaborative team cultureExposure to a high-profile, technically challenging infrastructure programme.If you have the above experience we would strongly encourage you to apply.
