SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School SEN Unit (Northolt)  Start Date: January Pay: £105–£120 per day (depending on experience) Contract: Long-term / Full-time Trials: Starting immediately Pertemps Education is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive Mainstream Primary School in Northolt, who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist SEN Unit from January. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with SEN experience to make a meaningful impact within a supportive and rewarding environment. About the Role The successful candidate will be working closely with pupils who have a range of special educational needs, supporting their learning, development, and wellbeing within a small, highly structured setting. The role includes elements of personal care, and you will be working with children of EYFS age, helping them access learning and develop core communication and independence skills. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils within the SEN Unit Assist with personal care routines, ensuring dignity and safety at all times Support EYFS learners with communication, social skills, and early learning development Implement individual support plans and follow guidance from teachers and SENCO Use positive behaviour-management strategies to support emotional regulation Maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment for all pupils Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external specialistsIdeal Candidate We are looking for someone who has: Experience working with SEN pupils, ideally within EYFS or early primary years Confidence supporting children with complex needs or communication difficulties A calm, patient, and nurturing approach Strong behaviour-management skills Experience or willingness to assist with personal care A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learnersRequirements Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Right to work in the UK Prior SEN experience in a school or care settingWhy Apply Through Pertemps Education?
