Quantity Surveyor Reports to: Commercial Director Office location: London Salary: 60,000 - 70,000 per year plus discretionary bonus The Company: The A S Ramsay Group are award winning building contractors based in London and the Southeast. Our work focus is: Restoration: external mansion block repair schemes and internal common part refurbishment. Cladding remediation: design and build contracts replacing combustible cladding to residential high-rise buildings. Fire compartmentation: certi?ed ?re door installation, repair and maintenance, as well as compartmentation schemes and installation of ?re detection and suppression systems. Job Purpose: The purpose of the Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in managing the financial aspect of our projects and support contractual obligations. You will ensure cost efficiency, Accurate valuations and compliance with contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycles. This position requires a strong overall understanding and knowledge of construction processes to include faade remediation, compartmentation systems and restoration works. Main duties: Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for facade, compartmentation, and restoration projects. Conduct cost analysis and risk assessments to ensure financial viability. Contribute to the procurement processes , including sourcing and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors working alongside the procurement team. Monitor project costs and variations , ensuring accurate valuations and timely reporting. Prepare and review contracts, tenders, and payment applications in line with company and client requirements. Liaise with design teams, project managers, and site teams to ensure alignment on scope and budget. Provide financial advice and cost control strategies throughout the project lifecycle. Person Specification: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related Field. Proven Experience in design and build projects. Strong understanding of construction contracts (JCT) Proficient in MS Excel, costs management software and project management tools Drive to succeed with a modern growing Company. Knowledge of UK building Regulations and fire safety compliance is highly desirable. Personal Attributes Strong Numerical, analytical and negotiation skills.
