This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, commercially minded finance leader to join an ambitious organisation at a pivotal point on its growth journey.The company is dynamic, results-driven and highly collaborative, offering the chance to work closely with the Board and PE stakeholders while shaping financial strategy and contributing directly to value creation.About the RoleThe Finance Director will provide strategic, commercial and operational financial leadership across the Group, overseeing all financial operations while also taking responsibility for the HR and IT functions.You will drive financial performance, ensure robust governance and controls, manage cashflow, and deliver high-quality reporting and insight that supports informed decision making.This is a hands-on, business-facing role well suited to a confident leader who enjoys partnering closely with senior stakeholders, influencing strategy, and driving continuous improvement across the organisation.Key ResponsibilitiesContribute to the achievement of the business objectives by providing advice and guidance on financial strategyLead financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow managementProduce timely monthly P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reporting, plus Board-level management accountsEnsure compliance with all statutory, audit and tax requirements, including production of statutory accountsMaintain strong internal controls, financial systems and risk management processesProvide commercial insight to support pricing, discount structures, margin improvement and stock managementUtilise Power BI and BI tools to deliver real-time analysis and performance reportingLead and develop the Finance, Credit Control, Purchase Ledger, HR and IT teamsManage banking, audit and external advisory relationshipsSupport M&A activity, performance improvement projects and exit planningAttend Board and SLT meetings, providing clear analysis, challenge and strategic inputPerson SpecificationFully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA of equivalent) Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Private Equity–backed environment (or similar)Ability to balance strategic-level activities with the requirement to be ‘hands-on’ and close to detail.Proven leadership experience within a finance team and associated management responsibilityStrong understanding of financial controls, governance and complianceCommercially focused with experience improving profitability and cash generationStrong Excel and systems skills; confident working with BI toolsExcellent communicator with the ability to influence finance and non-finance stakeholdersHigh attention to detail, with resilience and the ability to work under pressureContact Perran Cooke or Gemma Quaye at Sowena Group, or click Apply to be considered.
