This role combines both commercial responsibilities and operational execution, managing the full lifecycle of global fine art shipments.The position requires strong technical knowledge, operational independence, and the confidence to act as the primary operational contact for clients and partners. You will work closely with the Global Head of Fine Art to build scalable processes, ensure exceptional service delivery, and support Avas entry into the fine art logistics sector.Key Responsibilities:Client Engagement & ScopingReceive and scope client enquiries, ensuring all requirements, risks, timelines and handling needs are fully understood.Act as the primary operational contact, providing clear, confident and expert guidance throughout the shipment lifecycle.Quotation & Commercial ExecutionPrepare accurate, commercially sound quotes covering full end-to-end services while maintaining sustainable margins.Monitor margins and review job profitability, addressing cost discrepancies directly with subcontractors and forwarders where required.Operational CoordinationCoordinate all bookings with fine art subcontractors and international forwarders to Avas standards.Maintain complete and accurate shipment data, documentation, and status updates within Avas systems.Shipment Execution & OversightEnsure all movements adhere to fine art handling, packing, crating and transport standards.Support complex international shipping requirements including customs, regulatory compliance and specialist documentation.Qualification, skills & Experience: 5+ years of experience in fine art logistics with a strong operational background.Deep knowledge of international airfreight, airline processes, routings, AWBs, consolidations and secure cargo handling.Strong understanding of global customs requirements, including Temporary/Bonded Imports, CITES, Export Licences, and cultural goods regulations.Proven experience managing complex projects, including exhibitions, art fairs and multi-stage global movements.Experience coordinating global subcontractors across Europe, the US, Asia, the Middle East and other major art markets.Mindset & Working StyleOperates with confidence, independence and strong professional judgement.Solution-oriented, practical and capable of resolving issues without constant escalation.Analytical and detail-driven, able to interpret costs, margins and operational data accurately.Highly organised, reliable and consistent in follow-through.Growth-focused, comfortable shaping new processes and contributing to the build of a new division.Communicates clearly, calmly and professionally with clients, partners and internal teams.LanguagesExcellent written and spoken English (required).Additional languages - especially French, Spanish, German, Italian, Mandarin or Cantonese, Arabic - are highly desirable.What This Role OffersAt Ava, you will join a growing and ambitious organisation redefining secure logistics for the modern world.
