You will tailor lessons to meet individual needs while delivering the curriculum in ways that maximise achievement and personal development.Working closely with the Assistant Headteacher (Quality of Education) and the wider leadership team, you will play a central role in shaping high-quality teaching and learning. Youll help create an engaging, innovative curriculum while contributing to a calm, safe, and inclusive school culture where every child can thrive.At Meadowcroft, youll spend less time on paperwork and more time doing what you do bestdesigning inspiring learning experiences that develop curiosity, problem-solving, and resilience. The role is challenging, meaningful, and deeply rewarding, within a school that places safeguarding, pupil voice, and respect at the heart of everything we do.Key Responsibilities:Deliver engaging, inclusive ICT and Computer Science lessons tailored to a range of additional needsPlan and implement high-quality ICT, Literacy, and Numeracy provisionModel and champion outstanding teaching and learning through classroom practiceDeliver a stimulating, innovative curriculum that inspires creativity and academic successImplement a robust assessment cycle, including target setting, progress tracking, and monitoringUse pupil progress data to improve teaching, motivate learners, and inform parents and leadersSupport pupils to achieve outcomes that demonstrate strong personal progressSupport the review and implementation of teaching, learning, marking, and assessment policiesIdentify, manage, and prioritise high-quality teaching and learning resources and budgetsSupport literacy and numeracy interventions, including whole-school reading programmesPromote emotional wellbeing and maintain a calm, safe learning environmentSupport pupils personal, social, and academic developmentEncourage positive behaviour, independence, and respectContribute to effective pupil induction, grouping, and pastoral careWork collaboratively with teachers, middle leaders, senior leaders, and pastoral teamsCommunicate effectively with parents, external agencies, and partner organisationsWho Were Looking ForYou will be someone who:Can confidently deliver coding as part of the curriculum (essential)Has experience delivering e-sports (desirable, but not essential)Holds UK QTS or an equivalent qualificationIs a strong, creative classroom practitionerIs motivated to work with pupils with varied and complex needsBrings resilience, adaptability, and a positive attitudeAbout UsMeadowcroft is an independent specialist day school for pupils aged from 5 to 19, catering for pupils with a wide range of needs across 4 sites in Wakefield.
