Job Title:Electrical EngineerLocation: Porton Down, SalisburyContract: Full Time, Permanent Salary: £48,000£52,000 (depending on experience)+ Potential On Call payments + Overtime Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday About the Role Mainstay Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Building Services Engineer (Electrical) to join our clients Technical Services team. This is a key leadership position focused on electrical engineering compliance, safety, and operational efficiency across complex and secure Ministry of Defence estates. This role combines technical excellence with operational leadership, acting as the Qualified Supervisor (QS) and Authorised Person (HV & LV). Your work will have a direct impact on ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of vital electrical systems. Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and guide the electrical engineering team and subcontractorsOversee inspection, testing, and maintenance in accordance with BS7671 and BS5266 standardsEnsure compliance with NIC/EIC accredited standards and maintain governanceAct as Authorised Person (HV/LV) for the control of high-risk engineering activitiesConduct audits and provide expert technical advice on electrical safety systemsSupport both planned and reactive maintenance operationsBuild and maintain strong working relationships with MOD stakeholders, Defence Infrastructure Organisation, and regulatory bodies About YouQualified to 18th Edition with City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing)Hold NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent (ECS Approved Electrician)Previous experience as a Qualified Supervisor (QS) for electrical installationIn-depth knowledge of BS7671, BS5266, and NIC/EIC complianceExperience as an Authorised Person (HV & LV) under JSP 375UK National, over 18, eligible for and able to maintain SC Clearance Desirable Skills and QualificationsCompEx certifications (Ex0106, Ex12, Ex14)E&I inspection experience in oil, gas, or chemical sectorsFire safety or H&S qualifications (e.g. SMSTS)Proven team leadership and supervisory skills Whats on OfferCompany van and fuel cardUp to 6% employer pension contribution25 days annual leave plus bank holidaysAdditional volunteer leaveOne paid professional membership annuallyLife Assurance policyAccess to employee discount and reward schemesA variety of interesting and meaningful projectsOngoing training, support, and clear career progression opportunitiesTPBN1_UKTJ
